Luciana was raised in Rome by her parents. Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi who was an Italian army officer and her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was once one of Benito Mussolini's mistresses. Luciana does not have known siblings. She attended a local high school, and after matriculating in 1955 she studied navy engineering at the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only woman in her class. Luciana started out as a fashion model after just two years. The direction of her career was changed afterwards, when by pure luck, she was offered her first part as a character in Three Coins in the Fountain. Brett Halsey, an actor herself, was her first spouse. The couple also made Return to the Peyton Palace in 1960 after they were wed. Luciana was granted custody following divorce. They had a baby boy named Charles that was born on June of 1961. Luciana was an actress as well as producer who was in a relationship with Tony Athony between 1962 and 1970. Tony Athony was inspired by Luciana's performance in Green Slime.
